Introduction: Social Empowerment and Building Accessibility Centre (SEBAC-Nepal)

Formally registered in 1997 in District Administration Office in Achham, Social Empowerment and Building Accessibility Centre Nepal (SEBAC-Nepal) is a leading national-level non-governmental organization (NGO) in Nepal dedicated to serve marginalized, disadvantaged and poor community across the country. Over the past 28 years, SEBAC – Nepal has accomplished around 96 multidisciplinary projects benefitting more than 12.1 million population across 44 districts (57.14% total coverage in Nepal). 

SEBAC-Nepal operates across six thematic areas;

  • Livelihood/ Agriculture/Economic Recovery; 
  • Rural Infrastructure; 
  • Nutrition, Health and Education; 
  • Governance, Gender Advocacy and Empowerment; 
  • Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH); and 
  • Disaster Risk Reduction and Management/Natural Resource and Biodiversity Management/Climate Change.

This holistic approach allows SEBAC-Nepal to integrate the activities and address the numerous challenges faced by the vulnerable communities. As of 2024, SEBAC-Nepal has extensive working experiences working in six provinces including substatial grassroot experience working in 243 rural municipalities, 163 municipalities, seven sub-metropolitan city and one metropolitan city. Additionally, it has proven experiences in working with local government, enabling for co-funding, capacity building, project implementation, quality assurance, and O&M assurance.
